A "Snapshot" of the Unified Arts Program
The Maranacook Community Middle School Unified Arts Team consists of the following disciplines: Art, Health, Music, Physical Education, and Technology Education. Although the courses are taught independently of one another, the Team has joined together to share themes such as “As Time Goes By” and “Early Americana”. We also celebrate the Unified Arts during a special culminating event “Unified Arts Night” at the end of every school year during which there are musical performances, art exhibits, technology education displays, and student projects from health and physical education. More importantly, we share a common goal. This goal is to provide students with educational opportunities which inspire creativity, problem-solving,
self-expression, confidence, risk-taking, positive interpersonal skills, and emotional and physical well-being. The Unified Arts courses complement concepts explored on the academic teams and contribute in teaching our students to become “caring, informed, and involved citizens” (MCMS Philosophy and Mission). |
