Eighth Grade Recognition
Elsa Bergdahl: Elsa is on the Moose Team. She is a great all around person! She has been a member of many different teams, clubs and musicals she has been a part of. Elsa is respectful, honest and still up for what she believes in. She has a great sense of what is right and wrong, and is incredibly kind and responsible. Elsa- keep doing amazing things! I will miss you next year! Mrs. Satt writes: Elsa was quite unsure of Chewonki when we went, but she's not one to give up easily when she isn't sure of things, so she went in with a growth mindset and learned so much about herself during that week! It was a time of many firsts and Elsa approached them all with enthusiasm and curiosity. Watching her become who she is over these three years is pretty awe inspiring as she has become a very civic minded person who seeks to make everyone around her feel safe. Her photographs in my room will remind me of her always.
Jared Bowley: Jared is a member of the Moose Team. Ms. Satt writes, “Jared - the eater of only green apples - answered my question that you can survive off of one food for a week. Jared came to Moose Island as an unassuming, quiet student, but quickly became his quirky self as he got to know his teachers. While he may come off as negative to those who don't know him, he is actually quite motivated to do great things when he sees a purpose in them. He may have to look a little harder for a silver lining, but with time and patience, he will see it. I am going to miss you, Jared! I will think of you every time I see green apples.” Mrs. Holland also remembers, “Jared did a great job working with the elementary students during ADO in December!”
